Documentation of Cyborg Nation: Dome Living
Sept. 12 – Oct. 16, 2009
X-Initiative, on the ground floor of the former DIA building on 22nd St. in Manhattan, New York.
This was the third iteration of Cyborg Nation, part of Fritz Haeg’s “Dome Colony X in the San Gabriels.” The piece was one of several that “colonized” Haeg’s abstracted representation of the San Gabriel mountains for six weeks, with performances 2-3 times a week. Both the SCoPE and the installation developed over time, with statements on paper gradually accumulating on the dome tent provided. What is shown here on video and in the photos is just a small fraction of the hundreds of interactions that took place over the course of the installation.
